A brief history of AMG, the UK's first Sample CD producer! The Advanced Media Group

AMG started out life as a hi-tech music equipment dealer - on of Roland's first System House dealers - founder, Matthew was then joined by a talented 16 year old producer Lee. We went on to produce some of the most famous sample libraries for Valhala who were industry leaders in this field. Our first sample CD was based on these sounds and the first ever from a UK producer. It was fairly quickly followed by Pascal Gabriel's Dance Samples - a world first! Then countless more libraries followed, award winning sounds and also pioneering emerging formats with more World firsts. David Ruffy's Drums was the first live drum loop CD including multi velocity hits and REX, RefIll, Apple Loops and Garageband Instruments also led the way onto the market in due course. After around 15 prolific years the productions dried up for a combination of business, personal and market conditions the production line dried up but the 100-odd releases remain some of the most seminal and inspiring libraries to this day. Despite most being more 'performance based' than emulations of instruments we did produce Kick-Ass Brass! which is widely acknowledged as the finest modern horn section to this day. In recent years we are mainly offering our legacy in modern native formats for instant download, continuing support of Kick-Ass Brass! and plan to add all the missing libraries to Beat Producer XXXL so in time it becomes the definitive record of those years of trailblazing at the cutting edge of sampling technology. Thanks to everyone for being part of the journey!
